As a designer and creative myself, I know the joy of wearing something that shows off your passion or hobby. Community building has been difficult for many creative endeavors because we do them in the comfort of our own homes. A lot of passions are not ones we carry with us when we go out into the world. For apparel sewists and fiber artists, you may make the article of clothing yourself (showing off those pockets, anyone?) and pick up some conversations about the apparel along the way. For the quilters, cosplayers, crafter, 3D printing enthusiasts, bookbinders, woodworkers, DIYer....the list goes on!.... it may be more difficult to start those conversations.
