Winzy Design was my first business, created after my graduation from college and the birth of my first child. Winzy was a nickname for my oldest, courtesy of a cousin who could not say her name. I took my handmade goods to our local farmer's market and larger craft markets and began to learn what it takes for a small business.
My books are designed to be used, not looked at like some piece of art from a museum (although I think they look pretty sharp, too, if I do say so myself). Journals, wedding guestbooks, watercolor and sketch books, made from quality materials with attention to detail.

Long lasting materials and a tight, double Coptic stitch allows these kinds of books to lay flat and be well protected. This collection of books was my favorite.
I have an affinity for miniatures, so I made tiny books! These mini books became keychains, Christmas ornaments, and necklaces. I know of customers even using them as password books!
In 2013, I created Bookbinding 101 for an online learning platform, atly.com. During the span of the course's time, I acquired approx. 75 students that signed up to learn to make a single signature, hardback case bound book. Course photography by Jeni Awerkamp and videography by Steve Olpin.
